Hollywood man awarded $4.8 million for injuries in car crash
March 13, 2009
by Ihosvani Rodriguez | South Florida Sun Sentinel
A Broward jury this week awarded $4.8 million to a Hollywood man
who was severely injured in a 2003 car accident.
Michael Gamson, 46, was hurt when the driver of a local drug company's
van struck his vehicle from behind on March 11, 2003, near Hollywood
Boulevard and 28th Avenue.
Gamson sustained neck and back injuries, which required extensive
surgery, said his attorney, Steven J. Hammer.
Gamson sued the drug company's insurance carrier, State Farm. The
verdict was reached exactly six years after the accident.
"The award will not be enough to erase his pain, but at least
it will take away the stress of wondering how he will support his
family and pay for medical bills," Hammer said.
